My Father

Today is Father's Day. This is a day that is dedicated to all Fathers, but for me, its even more special since I have the opportunity to honor My Father, Mangilal (Tony) Kakani. No daughter could have a  better, inspiring, loving, or caring Dad.

My Dad (and Mom) came to this country to give us a bright future. He came to the U.S. as a young graduate engineering student with $1.00 in his pocket, optimism, and tenacity. My Dad has overcome many hardships, and uncertainity throughout his life. At the end, he endured with his dreams intact and in the process, never giving up his principles, morals, nor integrity. He has given his children an incredibly blessed life, a life that is full of love and support.

Dad, I don't say this to you as often as I should or I could, but I am so in awe of  you. You inspire me everyday. I look to you to give me guidance, and to show me how to achieve my dreams through hard work and determination. You lead by example, and have shown me that there is no adversity that I cannot overcome. Life is full of hardships and you have had more than your fair share. You have taught me that life experiences make you strong, and show you how to endure. I cannot say enough, nor express fully how much I admire, respect, and love you Dad. For all that you are, for all that you do, I am incredibly lucky and blessed.
